I Need Your Ideas!

Now that I'm in a crafty frame of mind, I want to make stuff out of everything I find.  Over the weekend, I stumbled upon this key that was probably a spare car key left for us by a relative years ago just in case they locked themselves out.  The cool thing is the "K" cut out of the key....my name is Karen....how perfect is that?!

My first temptation was to make a beaded or tatted necklace to hang it from.  Is that too boring?  Shouldn't I try something new?  What else can I do with it?  I'm not opposed to a necklace as long as I try something different.

I need your help to come up with some ideas to try, so bring them on.  If I use your idea, I will send you something special that's handmade by me.

I want to know how they cut the K in that key! totally cool. I don't have any good ideas other than using it as a keychaing or necklace!

I have a "K" in my name too! I'd love to see it as a long necklace..then you can gift it to me! ;) Clever!

Hey-I take it you're not a UTES fan? Haha! I'm all about ASU as I live in AZ but my dad went to BYU so if I had to choose between the Utes and the Cougars, I'm all about BYU!

You could make a necklace with beads. Maybe you know of someone who's used a key to make one but to be honest with you I haven't ever seen anyone use a key in tatting for anything yet. So why not make one of a kind & keep it for yourself. After all it's clear that you was spose to have it. Maybe it was a realative who left it for you years ago. Maybe it was sent to your by the spirits to make something special for your self with too. No matter what I look forward to seeing what you come up with to make with it cause it will be beautiful!

On Facebook, there were suggestions to create earrings (but I only have one key) and to make it a keychain fob by mounting the key onto something else and attaching it to the key ring.
