I love colorful things and I'm fond of wearing bright colors. The one color I usually avoid like the plague is yellow. It's a beautiful color and I love seeing it in nature, but I never want to see it on me.
My favorite yellow flower is the daffodil. Seeing them reminds me of my grandparents and their fabulous flower garden. While sitting at the farmers market this weekend, I started tatting with some yellow thread and came up with my own version of a daffodil. I didn't try to make it look exactly like one. Instead, I wanted to capture the feel of the yellow flower with the ruffled yellow center. I used a variegated yellow rayon thread.
After making the pair of earrings, I decided to make a matching necklace and added some beads for extra sparkle. Despite my aversion to wearing yellow, I wore these to work and received some great compliments.
